Our Story
Founded on a simple conviction.
Founded in 2019, AKAM Architects is led by Karthik Dileep and Anakha, whose shared vision is to create architecture that responds to climate, context, and the way people live. Their approach prioritizes thoughtful design over passing trends, resulting in spaces that are timeless, sustainable, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Karthik graduated in Architecture from the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) and later earned an MSc in Design from Nottingham Trent University. His multidisciplinary background spans architecture, product design, industrial design, and sustainable design across residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
Anakha, also a graduate of CET, holds an MA in Lighting Design from Edinburgh Napier University. Her expertise in daylighting and architectural lighting informs every project, enhancing spatial quality, atmosphere, and user experience.
Together, they lead AKAM as an integrated design practice, bringing architecture, interiors, lighting design, engineering, and project delivery together under one studio. This collaborative approach ensures that every project—from the earliest concept to its final realization—retains its original design intent while responding thoughtfully to its environment and the people who inhabit it.
